Program

Day 1: Loop south of Clamecy (35 km)
Departure from Clamecy heading south toward Chevroches and its fossil meander. You will follow alternatively the Nivernais canal and the River Yonne up to Tannay, where it will be time to stop for a tasting of melon (local white grape), or lunch.
The last few kilometers between Tannay and Clamecy a bit remote from the canal, are on back roads in the woods and hills to discover pretty villages. Back to Clamecy, you can visit the old city, the collegial church dedicated to St. Martin and Roland Roman Museum, with the 3rd floor only for "floating wood".

Day 2: Clamecy – Auxerre (58 km)
From Clamecy, you cross the remnants of a coral reef, with the cliffs of Surgy, Mailly-le-chateau perched on a ledge, and the rocks of Saussois. You will also discover the fortified farm of Basseville, Faulin Castle and a medieval village perched on the hill: Chatel-Censoir.
You then take the direction of Auxerre for the wineyard part of the trip. You will make a slight detour to Irancy, a wellknown village with its beautiful "pinots noirs".
Then back to the banks of the Yonne near Bailly. You will visit wineries installed in an huge limestone quarry. After these visits and tastings, it will be time to let you slide along the Yonne towards Auxerre.
